Great discussion! I am afraid I went for the Bright Shiny Object and focused more on the immediate threat, specifically the people shooting at my scouts, than the bridge.
With Enemy Over the Bridge, it was immediately obvious to me that I needed to prevent more troops from coming over the bridge. Even though it was my first TDG. But something about Midnight at the Oasis mitigated that instinct. Maybe the lack of roads makes it seem like Eotb is as good a choke point as the bridge?
